Australia's Very Own Clay Aiken

I think everyone - except for his "Claymates" believes Clay Aiken is gay. Aiken was the 2003 "American Idol" runner-up and has been the subject of rumors and tabloid reports questioning his sexuality. Now it appears that Australia has a case of the "Gaykens".

Many in Australia believed Anthony Callea, the 2004 "Australian Idol" runner-up, is gay but mainstream media pretty much left the subject alone. That is until a traffic reporter "outed" him on a morning radio show!: Vic Lorusso outed the singer after mentioning meeting Callea while discussing an old school mate on The Edge's breakfast show.

"You wouldn't know him. He's a nice guy but his partner, which is Anthony Callea, didn't want to know anything about anybody," the traffic reporter told host Christo."
A spokeswoman for the show claimed Lorusso had not outed Callea deliberately. "Vic had no idea that it wasn't common knowledge," she said. Neither Callea nor his management have yet to respond to the report.

He was questioned about the comment but quickly moved back to traffic. Let's hope that Callea feels comfortable enough to live his true life - whatever his sexuality -and let's hope his fans accept him for who he is. -- Wonder if the "Claymates" are capable of such support?!
