Beckham Scores and Writes Home About It

Footballer David Beckham scored his first goal for the L.A. Galaxy advancing the Galaxy to the SuperLiga finals and he's so excited that he took to his blog to talk about it:

" Hello everyone,

I know, another blog so soon, but after my game yesterday I couldn’t wait to let you know how I felt.

It was incredible to finally start the game against D.C. United but to actually score a goal in my first proper home match was more than I could have hoped for, and an intensely amazing moment for me. On top of that I was handed the captain’s armband for the start of the game and I felt very proud to have been given that honour so early on in my career here. I definitely hope there are a few more of those!

I felt fit, so that was very encouraging and I was pleased to play a good hour of the game, but especially pleased that we won and we’re in the final of the SuperLiga. The fans were superb all night and I thought we deserved to go through, even though D.C. gave us a few problems and are a very strong team.

I’m now looking forward to our next game against Red Bull New York and hope to play a part in that. Hopefully, we can build on last night’s fantastic result.

Speak to you soon
David "

Um, David, I have the perfect place for you to put that sexy tongue of yours...

...Wife Victoria Beckham didn't think the goal was so "mayjah!" Oh Vicky, lighten up honey. You're much more fun when your silly.

Mama Mia to Twins!

Soccer star Mia Hamm and husband Nomar Garciaparra of the Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed twin girls Wednesday, a rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

"Both babies are healthy," says Josh Rawitch, spokesman for the Dodgers.

Hamm, 33, played on the U.S. women's national soccer team for 18 years. When she retired after the 2004 Athens Olympics, the Wichita Falls, Texas, native had won two World Cups and two Olympic medals.

She met Garciaparra at a 1998 charity event, and they wed in Santa Barbara in 2003. The couple live in Los Angeles.

Garciaparra, 33, is the Dodgers first baseman. He previously played for the Chicago Cubs and the Boston Red Sox.

** Congratulations to Mia and family! I didn't play with or against Mia but I did play with and against Shannon MacMillan who played with Mia for years. Shannon's club team picked me up for a tournament in Arizona one year but otherwise our club teams competed against eachother often.

Beckham Spotted at FA Cup Match

I spy David Beckham and John Terry! Yummy lads. The two were snapped together on March 11 ('07).

On another note: Beck's wife Victoria is reportedly keen on having a little girl so she has placed him on a special diet. Someone is telling her David should limit red meat and should chow down on tons of steamed veggies, asparagus, avocado, peppers, salad, combined with white meat or fish. Basically foods rich in alkaline. She is also reportedly getting a "fertility sign" tattoo.

Nice. She can tell her hubby how to eat but she refuses to eat herself.

Footballer Rooney to Marry Next Year

Wayne Rooney, Manchester United's scrappy forward, is "likely" to marry his childhood sweetheart Coleen McLoughlin next summer, 2008, according to sources.

No precise date has yet been fixed but the nuptials are likely to have to work around the national team's fixtures in the Euro 2008 tournament. It's nice to see they overcame his night of sex with a prostitute about four months after the couple got together.

The news follows the completion of a $1,998,401.00 deal (£1.5m) deal with Hello! magazine earlier this month to exclusively cover the couple's big day. This also includes the rights to cover McLoughlin's 21st birthday party. The deal is thought to be the largest ever paid by a celeb mag to cover a wedding.

Rooney is already thought to earn $133,226.00 (£100,000) per week as a United player and he has lucrative sponsorship deals with both Nike and Coke.

MAN! If I'd only stuck with soccer a bit longer. Oh, and if I were a guy!

Becks Out of Action x6 Weeks
*cue the tears*

David Beckham injured ligaments in his right knee during Real Madrid's Sunday match against Getafe. He injured the knee after lunging for the ball and crashing into an advertising sign near Getafe's goal. -- I've always thought those dang advertisements are too close to the action. These guys are moving quickly and cannot be expected to stop on a dime.

But I digress...Things could have been a lot worse but he will need 4-6wks of rest which mean no game pics of him but probably lots of "about town" pics! *cheering loudly* Becks tried to play on but limped off the field in the 63rd minute. This injury shouldn't affect his summer move to LA to play for the LA Galaxy.
