Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took the kiddies (Maddox, Zahara, Pax & Shiloh) on a water outing in Chicago Saturday (August 18). The boating excursion got rained out but they do look like they had a good time for a bit.

Maddox is wearing his brand new "Sue" t-shirt from the family's outing to the Field Museum of Natural History.

No word on how long they'll be in Chicago. I'm sure they'll head to some exotic local once Jolie wraps Wanted filming in the "Windy City."

Brad Pitt was snapped carrying little Pax Thien from a private jet after the Jolie-Pitt family landed in Prague where Angelina Jolie is set to film "Wanted" in which she plays an assassin who agrees to take on an apprentice.

Pax's Name Change

So rather than adopting Pax Thien Jolie - Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have taken the simpler route of just legally changing his name. Hopefully one day, when allowable, Brad will take the next step.

TMZ is reporting Angelina, who adopted her latest "little guy" last month (March), filed a petition in Los Angeles Superior Court to change Pax's name from Pax Thien Jolie to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt so that it is the same name as his brother (Maddox adopted from Cambodia) and two sisters (Zahara adopted from Ethiopia & birth daughter Shiloh) and also reflects "the last name of her partner."

I encourage adoption one million times over. It just worries me that they move so quickly from one kid to the next but I'm sure those kids are very well taken care of.

It seems like forever since Angelina Jolie adopted Pax Thien Jolie from a Vietnamese orphanage, pimped to magazines and then placed in hiding.

TMZ has this photo of Pax leaving his hoity-toity daycare in L.A. Monday, April 16.

Hmmm, must've adjusted pretty quickly if he is already spending his days in a dayum daycare without his new mama. Whatever. Still a much better life than an orphanage.

Kidnapping Plot to Kidnap Pax Jolie?!

Angelina Jolie and newly adopted son Pax escaped a plot by kidnappers to snatch the boy upon his arrival to the US – and to demand $100 million for his return.

According to an exclusive report in this week's Life & Style, a "credible" plot was "meticulously planned" by a gang that has executed kidnappings and extortion plots before.

"They're highly skilled operatives with little regard for human life," says an insider close to Brangelina's security team. Though the couple have faced kidnapping threats before, this particular menace was deemed "credible and serious" – and was, apparently, foiled before any harm could come to the child.

Meanwhile, reports L&S, Brad has installed a $500,000 security system in the home the couple bought in New Orleans, and what's more, the house is just a block away from a police precinct.

HELLO! rag was the highest bidder scooping the first staged pics and interview with Angelina Jolie since her adoption of Pax Thien Jolie. Ms. Smarty Pants knows that she should put out the pics first to reduce the value of razzi's pics thereby, hopefully, reducing their need to intensely stalk her and the rest of the Jolie-Pitt crew.

Enjoy Pax as he is now - while you can - you know Mama Jolie will have him wearing black and grey with a killer mohawk in no time.

Mama Jolie is so proud: "I will stay at home to help Pax adjust to his new life," Jolie told Friday's Ho Chi Minh City Law newspaper, according to a translation on the Associated Press. "I have four children and caring for them is the most important thing for me at the moment. I am very proud and happy to be their mother."

...But in answering those who have questioned the adoption, Jolie says, "Everyone would agree that children need to have a family. I have the ability to help children fulfill that desire. Why should I say no?"

- Contrary to Vietnamese reports, Adoptions From The Heart said today (March 16'07) " Throughout Ms. Jolie's adoption process, she received no preferential treatment from the Vietnamese government or Adoptions From The Heart, and, contrary to earlier reports, her application was not fast-tracked."

I'm totally calling bullsh*t on that. Come on - filing paperwork, getting approved & bringing home the kid in less than a month. Puh-lease. But congrats nonetheless. It is a blessing.
