A Case of the Madonna

Everyone always rags on Madonna when a slight British accent or British "speak" creeps into her speech. Looks like Elijah Wood is the latest to let the British in.

Gatecrasher asked Wood why he suddenly sounds British:

"Do I? I was just in London for 2 ½ months working on a film called 'The Oxford Murders,'" he told us. So was your character British? "No, American! But I was there, and I guess my accent is sort of a sponge for whatever I'm around."

I'm totally one of those people who absorbs my surroundings to the extent that my speech slightly changes. I lived in Toronto for 4-5 months and it took me years to stop saying "eh" and stop ending my sentences on an up note!
