Boycotting Can Be Good
Some gays want people to boycott the "Hairspray" remake set for release next month and starring John Travolta because of Travolta's Scientology affiliation.
“Travolta, a prominent Scientologist, has no business reprising an iconic gay role, given his [religion’s] stance on gay issues,” notes Kevin Naff, managing editor of the gay-oriented Washington Blade. “It’s well known that Scientology rejects gays and lesbians as members and even operates reparative therapy clinics to ‘cure’ homosexuality.”
Ooo, sassy pants! I do wonder how Travolta rationalizes his Scientology life with that of his true gay self (allegedly). The movie's gonna suck monkey balls anyway so save your money. Or just wait to rent it if you must see it.
