Britney May Have Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression alone can leave a new mom feeling helpless and out of control. But when you're already a mess, already abusing drugs and alcohol (for years) and then you have children...well, you get Britney.

TMZ reports it's sources say that her doctors at Promises think the "underlying reason for her troubles may be post-partum depression(PPD)." Sources have reportedly told TMZ that the doctors "two operating theories -- either she suffers from post-partum depression or bipolar disorder. The doctors strongly believe her troubles may be PPD."

They further report: As for substance abuse, as one source says, "No doubt about it - she likes to drink." But doctors believe the drinking is a way Spears has coped with a bigger problem. Everything could be complicated by "an intense feeling on her part that she has lost control of her life." TMZ's sources are also saying that BritBrit is reading Brooke Shields's personal book on postpartum depression "Down Came the Rain"...

Upchucker' take?: All of this could very well be true but I think years of drug and alcohol abuse have deteriorated her brain...Check my post about her first husband's experiences with her dating back to 2003-2004. Ecstasy, Valium, tons of alcohol...Ecstasy eats away at your brain. Check out the pic below. The effects of ecstasy are still being studied but so far study results show: recreational ecstasy users may be at risk of developing permanent brain damage that may manifest itself in depression, anxiety, memory loss, and other neuropsychotic disorders.

I don't think she has a postpartum depression. She has a problem with drugs or alcohol.
