Teeny-Tiniest Baby Goes Home!

My brain can't even comprehend that's a a real human baby in those pictures! This story just completely amazes me.

A baby delivered at a South Miami hospital after just under 22wks of pregnancy is headed home. Itty-bitty Amillia Sonja Taylor was only 9.5 inches long and weighed less than 10oz. when she was born last October 24th! Can you even comprehend this? Isn't that like a can of soda or something?!

Full-Term babies are delivered/born between 37-40wks and weigh an average of 6-7lbs. Neonatologists who cared for the itty-bitty says she is the only baby known to survive a gestational period of less than 23wks.

According to her doctors, tiny Amillia has experienced respiratory problems, a very mild brain hemorrhage and some digestive problems, but none of the health concerns are expected to pose long-term problems.
